After graduation, he worked as an Associate Member of Technical Staff at SRI International’s David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton, New Jersey and was a member of several professional orchestras in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including the Riverside Symphonia, Delaware Valley Philharmonic, and Trenton Symphony. Dr. Hsieh remained musically active throughout medical school and his residency in Emergency Medicine, performing regularly as a member or concertmaster of a number of civic and professional orchestras, including the St. Louis Philharmonic and Gateway Festival Orchestra. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada and performs as concertmaster of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
Patrick Hsieh began his violin studies in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey with Barbara Barstow and continued with Thomas Lindsay of the New Jersey Symphony. He was a member of both the New Jersey and New York Youth Symphonies and spent many summers away at music programs, including two seasons at the Tanglewood Music Festival. While pursuing his degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University, he was a member of the student-led Bach Society Orchestra and served as concertmaster of the Harvard / Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players.
